Kanye West has remained oddly silent on news regarding his upcoming album. Although it's rumored to hit stores by June 18, West has yet to offer an official release date or any new music. The rapper is known for his antics and reverence in the limelight, so why is he so secretive about his new LP? Instead of telling the world himself, he's leaving it to the speculation of the Internet, which is always a dangerous game.

According to HMV Japan, the entertainment retail company that leaked the track list to G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer in August 2012, the album is indeed set for a June 18 release date. Although nothing is official, HMV Japan does have a history of leaking coveted information, and the date would confirm the speculation that spawned from West's mysterious "June Eighteen" tweet. Nothing is set in stone, but it's likely that West will reveal more details this Saturday during an appearance on "Saturday Night Live," which is exactly one month before the said release date. Coincidence?

In other Kanye news, an artist from G.O.O.D. Music claims that the new album sounds like it came from the "year 3000." West has always been credited for creating songs that are ahead of their time, setting the trend in modern music, so Houston rapper Travi$ Scott's statement doesn't seem too farfetched. Scott told MTV News that he heard the new LP and promised that it took West's sound to the "next level."

"This s*** is like some next level 3000," he said. "We're already in the year 3000 f****** with that s***, and that's why I love hanging out with those guys over there. You get caught on to that new s*** extra fast." Profanity aside, it sounds like Scott is a big fan of the new album.

When asked about West's reluctance to reveal too many details about the LP and what is was like working with him on the album, Scott replied "you know he feels about his s***. What I can say is, it's cool as f***, you just learn a lot, you see a lot, you hear a lot and you just get the information super-early." Nice.

As speculations come to a boil, fans will just have to wait until Saturday to hear from West himself.
