It's getting into crunch tie now for several NHL teams as the battle for the Stanley Cup continues with the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs rolling on Friday.

On Thursday, the Ottawa Senators closed the book on the series with the Montreal Canadians, beating them in a dominating 6-1 victory behind two goals from Cory Conacher, helping the Senators beat the Canadians 4 games to 1 in the first round.

In Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Penguins took a 3-2 lead in their first round series with the New York Islanders after a 4-0 shutout win behind goalie Tomas Vokoun's 31 saves. And in Chicago, the Minnesota Wild's season came to an end after the Chicago Blackhawks defeated them 5-1 behind two goals from Blackhawks RW Marian Hossa to take the series, 4 game to 1, and advance to the semifinals.

On Friday, the action continues when the Toronto Maple Leafs ship up to Boston to battle for their season against the Boston Bruins, who have taken a 3-1 stranglehold on the series after a thrilling 4-3 overtime win on Wednesday after a hat trick and a game-winner from David Krejci. With a rowdy crowd at the TD Garden on their side, Boston has the odds in their favor, but can the Maple Leafs rally to send the series back to their home ice in Toronto?

Then at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., the Washington Capitals host the New York Rangers in a pivotal Game 5. The Rangers and Derick Brassard rallied to win the last two games to tie the series at 2-all, but with home ice on their side in Game 5, the Capitals look to swing the momentum back in their favor. Can the Rangers' hot streak continue, or will the Capitals take the lead in the series?

At the famous Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich., the Red Wings look to keep their season alive when they host the Anaheim Ducks, who are coming off a 3-2 heart-stopping overtime win in Game 5. Ryan Getzlaf has come up clutch for the Ducks in the series, and they'll need him to big tonight with the storied Red Wings franchise in front of what is sure to be a fired-up crowd in Detroit.

And at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the defending Stanley Cup Champion L.A. Kings look to wrap up their series against the St. Louis Blues in front of their hometown fans. The Kings took a 3-2 lead in the series following a Game 5 overtime win on Wednesday. While the Kings are looking like they're poised to take the next step in defense of their title, the Blues are looking for a chance to send the series back to St. Louis for a penultimate Game 7 on Monday.
