A former Florida high school English teacher, who was simultaneously pursuing a career as a model, was fired after the school's principal discovered one of her racy modeling photos online.

Olivia Sprauer, 26, says she was aware that she was risking her job as a teacher at the Martin County High School when she decided to pose in a bikini in February, but she decided to take a chance and pose under the name Victoria James.

"Lots of teachers get fired or asked to resign for the same things I did," Sprauer told The Huffington Post.

"I knew I didn't want to come back next year and I knew I wanted to go to grad school so I decided if I made it to the end of the year I would be happy."

Sprauer, who began teaching freshmen and juniors in 2011, says that principal Alfred Fabrizio asked her to confirm that she was the woman posing in a sexy picture. Once she confessed, he asked her to resign the same day on April 29.

"I felt like it would have been nice for my students to finish out the year with me," Sprauer said. "They trusted me and they made me happy so that aspect of it was sad."

Sprauer says that she feels she did nothing wrong.

"I don't make pornography. I don't open my legs on camera. I take swimsuit glamour style photography," Sprauer said.

She added that her students support her and that she plans on attending her students' graduations.

"They are happy for me," Sprauer said. "They know I love them."

A spokesperson for the Martin County School District would only confirm that Spraueris no longer employed at the school and declined to comment further because it was a "personnel matter."
