Netflix's innovative watch anytime anywhere model is catching on quickly. With the return of "Arrested Development" and its latest original series "Hemlock Grove," it's established itself as a highly successful platform that introduces a new twist to how viewers watch their favorite shows. Its first original series, "House of Cards," was a tremendous hit and is now gearing up for a second season.

In the wake of season one, Kevin Spacey has taken a step away from the season 2 production to shed some light on his portrayal of Steny Hoyer. At a Motion Picture Association of America event in Washington on Tuesday night, Spacey and Hoyer got along swimmingly and chatted about the show's take on politics, although their banter may not have seemed so chummy at first.

"One phrase that I hate the most is when people say 'well, that's politics'" Hoyer said, "and your show is a lot about, 'well, that's politics.'" Hoyer continued to talk about the people's current conception of politics and how "House of Cards" plays directly into their negative connotations.

In response, Spacey claimed that people loved his astute, deceitful character, Francis Underwood, "because he gets s*** done." Although the show's version of Washington may be more cynical and callous than what it is in reality, it does exactly that. It doesn't stand idle. It moves forward, and people like that. Spacey even related his character to Daniel Day Lewis's "Lincoln," because it delved into who Lincoln really was, not how people have always perceived him. It shows more than what meets the eye, even if exaggerated.

When asked about season 2 of "House of Cards," Spacey told fans "we're a week into shooting season 2 and it's going to get really interesting." When they pressed for more details, he responded by saying, "I could, but then I would have to kill you all."

Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for season 2 of "House of Cards," but fans can rest assured that Spacey will surely turn heads in Washington once again.
