New owners of the Samsung Galaxy S4 often upgrade from a previous Galaxy device, and now Samsung has made the migration simple, with an app that transfers all data to a new Galaxy phone with a single bump.

Samsung Smart Switch Mobile, an official app from the mobile manufacturer, uses the NFC transfer capability that enables Galaxy phones to send videos to televisions and other devices, or exchange contact info with another phone by simply tapping them together.

"Smart Switch Mobile lets you switch from your old GALAXY to a new GALAXY with ease. Just lean them against each other then tap on the screens; you can instantly transfer your personal data from your old GALAXY to your new GALAXY," Samsung says.

Apparently, this particular app transfers all data from a Galaxy S device (the Galaxy S2 and S3, or even the S4 if you hate it) to any other Galaxy device, including the ones just mentioned, as well as the Galaxy Note series.

Samsung also offers other versions of the Smart Switch software for other devices.

Of course, this app essentially clones your old phone onto your new one, so you won't have the opportunity to clear out all those unused apps or old ringtones you now hate. One of the best parts of a new phone is starting out fresh, but this app is a nice option for those who feel no need for change.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
