New rumors say the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will come with an eight-core GPU in addition to an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor.
The Mali 450 is the upgraded version of the Mali 400 graphics processing unit used in the Samsung Galaxy S3. Combined with the Exynos 5, the Note 3 should be one of the most powerful smartphones on the market when it's released later this year, assuming these rumors are true.
Contrary to previous rumors, this batch says the Note 3 will have a 5.99-inch display, about a tenth of an inch larger than last we heard. That would place the Note 3's screen size pretty squarely between the 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch version of the Galaxy Mega line, a mid-tier brand that hits this summer that Samsung has touted as the largest phones in the world. SamMobile says the Note 3 will have similar dimensions to the smaller Mega phone, but the bezel will be thinner.
The rumors also up the specs on this hypothetical version of the Note 3, saying it will have 3GB of RAM, not just 2GB, and a 13-megapixel camera, not an 8-megapixel one. The camera makes sense, since the Galaxy S4 sports 13 megapixels, and the RAM amount is plausible, though Samsung will need to ramp up production, as a shortage of RAM has caused delays in the global release of the Galaxy S4.
The Galaxy Note 3 is still a long way off and won't be released until later this year. But rumors indicate it will have a 5.9-inch or 6-inch screen with an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, an eight-core Mali 450 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera, a bigger battery and run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. An unconfirmed source says the Note 3 will debut in Berlin in September.
