It's the first day of May, meaning "Pokémon X and Y" are now five months away from its worldwide debut.

The sixth-generation games, set to be exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS, may stir discussions once again of which generation is the superior, but an executive stated the new games will be for all fans of all eras.

The Pokémon Company International's Marketing Director Anthony Cornish told MCV that 2013 will be a key year for the organization as they enter "a new era" with "Pokémon X and Y."

"We believe these games will appeal to all generations both veterans and newcomers to Pokémon," noted Cornish.

The efforts to attract the earlier generations may be evident with follow ups to two first-generation Pokémon confirmed in the Nintendo 3DS games - Eevee and Mewtwo.

It has been confirmed Eevee will have another evolution named Sylveon, whose type is still unconfirmed but will make its debut this summer in Pokémon's next film. As for Mewtwo, the Genetic Pokémon will also have a major role in the upcoming movie battling Genesect and featuring a new form. The name of the form has not been released but a video has been posted about it.

"Pokémon X and Y" will make its Australian, European, Japanese, and North American launch in October. Fans can already place their pre-orders.
