The Shield and Team Hell No's war continues, the world title picture continued to develop and Mark Henry and Sheamus's power struggle continued in the latest edition of WWE Friday Night Smackdown for Friday, May 3, 2013.

According to Prowrestling.net, the show kicks off with Ryback cutting an in-ring promo with mixed reactions from the crowd.

Ryback defeated Daniel Bryan via Shell-Shocked.

Ricardo Rodriguez cuts a promo in angry Spanish backstage, with Alberto Del Rio having to calm him down.

Fandango defeated Zack Ryder via the top rope leg drop.

Ricardo Rodriguez and Zeb Colter fought to a no contest thanks to interference from Jack Swagger while World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler was on commentary with Big E Langston and AJ Lee nearby. Alberto Del Rio cleared the ring when Teddy Long came out and made it a tag team match and later a triple threat tag match after Ziggler and Big E interfered in Del Rio & Rodriguez vs. Swagger & Colter's tag match.

Del Rio & Rodriguez defeated Swagger & Colter and Ziggler & Langston when Del Rio made Ziggler tap out to the Cross Armbreaker.

The Shield attacked Daniel Bryan backstage, while Bryan's tag team partner Kane, the other half of WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell-No, said they would pay later.

Randy Orton defeated Damien Sandow via RKO. After the match, Big Show came out and cut a promo onstage while Orton looked on, distracting Orton  long enough for Sandow to attack Orton from behind while Big Show laughed at Orton's expense. These two seem destined for a collision at Extreme Rules in May.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry and "The Great White" Sheamus engaged in an arm wrestling contest, with Henry winning the first contest. Sheamus, however, goaded the big man into another contest with the left hand this time. And as he did on Monday night, Sheamus ended up Brogue Kicking his old rival again, setting up a potential match between these two former World Champions at the May PPV.

In the Main Event, Dean Ambrose of the Shield defeated Kane after some interference from the Shield allowed Ambrose to hit a finisher similar to MVP's Playmaker. After the match, the Shield beat down on Kane and made him another Triple Powerbomb victim, posing with the tag team titles as Smackdown went off the air, and adding more fuel to the fire between these two teams heading into Extreme Rules.

And in the dark match, Sheamus and Randy Orton defeated the Big Show and Mark Henry via a Brogue Kick/RKO combination.

In other news, WWE is hoping that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will give the WWE one more go-round at WrestleMania 30 next year in New Orleans. According to WrestleZone via F4WOnline.com, the WWE is hoping that the Rock, who is currently healing injuries suffered against John Cena during their WWE title bout at WrestleMania 29, will feel up to working WrestleMania next year, possibly against former UFC champion Brock Lesnar.

The Rock has tweeted this week that he was leaning towards retirement after having surgery to repair the abdominal damage he suffered at WrestleMania.

"Mania may have been my last match. The 3 year goal was to come in & elevate the @WWE. Then proudly "do the honors". #RockTalk @TigerTomblin," he tweeted on April 26.

However, the WWE continues to plug the Rock's projects in the hopes that the eight-time WWE Champion will be open to returning to the company, WrestleZone reports.

And according to Diva Dirt.com, footage of WWE Divas Cameron and Naomi was caught backstage during WrestleMania when their match between the Bellas and Team Rhodes Scholars vs. Tons of Funk and the Funkadactyls was cancelled. The footage is supposed to be used for "Total Divas," the upcoming E! reality series for WWE that will follow each of the women.

Reports are indicating, however, that the match was never actually part of the plans and was booked with the intention of scrapping it all along in order to create more drama for the series. Footage showed Cameron and Naomi backstage visibly upset that their match had been cancelled.
