Coming off an emotional roller coaster last week, 'Grey's Anatomy returns on Thursday with the aftermath of the CDC's investigation into Bailey's (Chandra Wilson) patients' deaths. While she is ultimately the reason behind their deaths, she has the staph infection strain that caused their deaths, the blame is placed on the gloves doctors began using after they were temporarily taken over.
Bailey's outburst against Richard (James Pickens, Jr.) during the last episode extends to the other doctors in this week's episode, entitled "Do You Believe in Magic." ABC teases, "The doctors reach out to Bailey but she continues to shut everyone out." A promo for the episode also shows the return of her husband, Dr. Ben Warren (guest star Jason George).
Meanwhile, ABC teases, "After an incident with Ethan's grandmother (guest star Jennifer Bassey), Owen (Kevin McKidd) fears the child could end up in foster care." Owen's relationship with Ethan has not escaped Christina's (Sandra Oh) notice and it has caused her to worry about their relationship. Fans catch a glimmer of what's to come for the duo in the promo when Christina asks Owen if he still wants kids.
Over at Pediatrics, "a new craniofacial specialist (guest star Hilarie Burton) arrives at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to work on a young patient," ABC teases. A look at the promo shows that the new specialist may be stirring up trouble for Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Callie's (Sara Ramirez) relationship. While we can't spill much, we can say that this won't be the last fans see of Burton.
Lastly ABC teases, "A magician's assistant is rushed into the ER after a magic trick goes terribly wrong." Fans will just have to wait to see what happens on Thursday.
'Grey's Anatomy' S9E22, "Do You Believe in Magic," airs on Thursday, May 2 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
