Fans were ecstatic to learn the The Postal Service would be reuniting back in January. Their return promised a reissue of their 2003 "Give Up" and a subsequent tour, making pit stops at the majority of the summer's biggest festivals. And now, much to fans' delight, the duo has extended their 2013 tour.
So far, the tour has seen the reunited band debut in Reno and put on an impressive performance at Coachella. At the end of May, the tour will officially kick off in Manchester, England, slowly making its way to the States. The new dates include West Coast arena shows in Los Angeles and Berkeley, California. Upon The Postal Service's initial return, singer Ben Gibbard said, "there are no plans to make a second [Postal Service] record ... I can't say that enough," but then again, just a year before he claimed that the band would not be getting back together, and they did. So what do fans ultimately get? New music. Their new track, "A Tattered Line of String," which they released in February, brings back Gibbard's unmistakable soft and melodic vocals and captures the same computerized indie synth pop sound that defined the band back in 2003.
