A man from Utah has a Mickey D's hamburger that you probably don't want to eat. David Whipple first purchased the burger from McDonald's in 1999 and has kept it ever since. However, it's even more fascinating that the burger looks like he may have just brought it, being that it has not aged, molded or rotted.

Whipple showcased the old burger on the TV show "The Doctors" where he explained that it was discovered many years ago in his coat pocket and that it looks the same then as it does now.

"I was showing some people how enzymes work and I thought a hamburger would be a good idea. And I used it for a month and then I forgot about it," Whipple said on the show.

Two years later, Whipple discovered the forgotten about burger was still in its original condition in one of his coat pockets.

"It ended up in the original sack with the receipt in my coat pocket tossed in the back of my truck," he told the show.

"My wife didn't discover it until at least a year or two after that," Whipple added. "And we pulled it out and said 'oh my gosh. I can't believe it looks the same way."'

In 2010, J. Kenji López-Alt also made the discovery about non-rotting burgers when he conducted a series of tests for Serious Eats. He found that "the burger [didn't] rot because its small size and relatively large surface area help it to lose moisture very fast. Without moisture, there's no mold or bacterial growth."

Whipple was unavailable for further comment.
