Another alleged component of the fifth-generation Apple tablet has been leaked.

The rear shell of the iPad 5 has been provided by Tactus while noting the tablet will maintain its Retina pixels and use IGZO displays. According to Tactus, such information translates to a thinner iPad, which would reduce the overall weight as well.

"We believe the new iPad 5 might contain the rumoured A7X chip and will retain its 9.7 inch screen size, just with much thinner bezels," Tactus wrote. "So far it seems to be everything I was hoping for!"

The speculation of a thinner tablet is similar to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's latest note, stating the iPad 5 will be 15 percent thinner and 25 percent lighter than the iPad 4.

"The new device will likely be about 500 grams, or some 25 [percent] lighter than iPad 4, run on an A7X processor, and sport cameras with similar specs to the iPad 4's (front HD, rear 5MP)," said Kuo. "The casing shape and color (silver and black) and narrow bezel design will be similar to the iPad mini's."

According to Tactus, additional, but yet unconfirmed, features on the iPad 5 include an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and internal storage models of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.

Tactus has previously stated the tablet would debut June 18 during a media event with a retail release date of June 27.
