Tribeca Film Festival Red Carpet 2013 - Jason Schwartzman Walks the Red Carpet for the World Premiere of "Teenage"

On April 20^th the Jason Schwartzman produced film, "Teenage," had its World Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The actor arrived on the red carpet with director Matt Wolf, writer Jon Savage and actor Malick Peters.

During the event Schwartzman said that when he read the book by Savage, he "really wanted to make the film but it took a long time. The project fell apart various times." He added that he was really excited to premiere at Tribeca because it was in New York City and that the festival was really special.

Wolf added, "To premiere at Tribeca was incredible because they were all New York based filmmakers. It was a pleasure to be recognized in your own city."

During the carpet Schwartzman admitted that one of his most memorable experiences as a teenager was at prom. He stated "My Prom date fell asleep. I knew from that moment we were not meant to be together."

The film documents the rise of the teenage years. It also shows the history of the struggle between adults and adolescents to define a new idea of youth through archival footage and filmed portraits.

Actors Ben Whishaw (Skyfall), Jena Malone (The Hunger Games), Jesse Usher (Beautiful Boy), Julia Hummer (Ghosts) lend their voices as narrators. Wolf said that the film is still seeking distribution and that he does not have another project lined up at the moment.

Schwartzman will next appear in "Saving Mr. Banks" and will re-team with Wes Anderson for "The Grand Budapest Hotel." He was recently seen in "A Glimpse in the Mind of Charles Swan III" alongside Charlie Sheen and Bill Murray.

"Teenage" screens three more times on April 22, 24, and 27. It will then head to HOT Docs Film Festival in May where it will make its international premiere in Toronto.
