The first clip for the highly anticipated "Star Trek Into Darkness" has arrived!

While the clip reveals nothing new about mysterious villain John Harrison (played by Benedict Cumberbatch), it showcases a brief glimpse at one of the film's top action sequences. In the clip, Spock (Zachary Pinto) has descended into an active volcano that can erupt at any moment. He is apparently ready to sacrifice himself to save his friends aboard the enterprise and constantly rebuttals their hopes to save him. When the crew members insistently tell Spock that they need to save him, he responds that "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." As the scene comes to an end, Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) questions what Spock would do if they had switched places. He is told by one of his shipmates that Spock would abandon him to his fate.

"Star Trek Into Darkness" stars Chris Pine as Captain James Kirk, Zachary Quinto and Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scottie, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Karl Urban as Dr. "Bones" McCoy, John Cho as Sulu, Bruce Greenwood as Chistopher Pike, Benedict Cumberbatch as the villainous John Harrison and Alice Eve as Dr. Carol Marcus.

The film will debut on IMAX screens May 15 and in regular cinemas on May 17.
