PS4 News: Full List of Confirmed Next Gen Games, Release Date Windows

The PlayStation 4 was announced back in February, and since then we have found out about several titles that are due at some point for the next gen system. While some may be current games getting a next-gen port, others are brand-new sequels to popular IP's and totally original games making their debut with the PlayStation 4.

Three sequels to blockbuster franchises make up the crown jewels of the confirmed PlayStation 4 lineup. Those games are Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. These games represent the transition between the current generation of consoles and the new, and will be available for both the PlayStation 3 and 4 (with the possible exception of The Witcher 3). Sony also hopes and believes these new games from critically successful franchises are able to entice gamers to make the switch to next-gen sooner rather than later.

Several new games for the PlayStation 4 also figure to lure gamers over to the system. In particular, the new Bungie game Destiny is very hotly anticipated by fans. The game figures to draw fans in the way Halo did for the original Xbox. In addition, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan is releasing Knack, a family-friendly game that will use to prove that the console isn't just about guns and violence.

Rounding up this already impressive lineup is a few other games that should boost the PlayStation 4's early life. The reboot of the Thief franchise already has been getting attention from fans and critics. Blizzard is bringing the PC game Diablo 3 to the console, changing the game to tailor fit the console experience better. Lastly, several other lesser known franchises, such as Infamous and Killzone will be bringing new games to the next-gen console as well.

This is only al list of the confirmed games for the PlayStation 4 at the moment, and gamers can expect even more to be announced once the release window for the PlayStation 4 gets closer.
