"Iron Man 3" has already started causing controversy and the film is not even in theaters yet.

According to numerous reports, AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas have stopped selling advanced tickets to the hotly anticipated Robert Downey Jr. starrer. Reports note that the dispute is over revenue-sharing. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, AMC has stopped selling the tickets because it has failed to reach an agreement with the film's distributor Disney.

"We hope to reach agreement and get tickets on sale as soon as possible so it doesn't affect opening weekend," Ryan Noonan, an AMC spokesman, wrote in an email earlier in the week.

Other posts have acknowledged that the two companies are working to reach a settlement. "AMC and Disney are working on the licensing agreement for the movie and hope to have that completed very soon. If you would like to receive an update on when AMC will begin selling tickets please text IM3TIX to 242424 and opt in to our SMS program," Press Enterprise indicated from several posts.

"Iron Man 3" is directed by Shane Black and follows Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) as his world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin. Stark is forced to start an odyssey in which he must rebuild his life and seek retribution. The film hits theaters on May 3 and also stars Guy Pearce, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Ben Kingsley.
