Harrison Ford has remained quiet about his involvement in the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 7." However, he explained why in a recent interview with USA Today.

"I got nothing to say about that," he told the newspaper about his involvement in the film. However, he eventually noted that he has remained quiet because, "If someone says 'Trust me', and it's not a sushi chef in a sushi bar, I'm immediately suspicious. I'm not a faith-based actor."

He also explained to the publication how his performance as Han Solo in the original trilogy changed his life.

"I knew there was a difference in how the business saw leading men and character actors, though I never really thought there was a difference," he explained.
"Still, I don't think people knew what to make of me [after Star Wars]. It wasn't until Witness that people started considering me a leading man."

In a recent interview with "Good Morning America" anchor Elizabeth Vargas, the thespian confirmed that he did know if he would be asked to reprise his role in the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie. "I don't know if I'm going to be invited to the party, but we'll see," Ford stated.

That reaction was a far cry from his statements in mid-March when he told a reporter in Chicago that he was involved. "I think it's almost true. I think... I'm looking forward to it. It's not in the bag yet, but I think it's happening," Ford stated when asked about returning to "Star Wars."

Series creator George Lucas confirmed Ford's involvement months ago during an interview with Bloomberg Business Week. Series creator George Lucas had confirmed that Ford was contacted about the role and during an interview with Bloomberg Business week. "We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison -- or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, 'Look, this is what's going on. Maybe I'm not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them. I won't say whether the negotiations were successful or not."

"Star Wars Episode 7" is expected to release in the summer of 2015.
