Two HTC One special editions will be back in stock on Apr. 23 on the HTC website, after they sold out last week due to high demand.
The 32GB unlocked version of the HTC One and the 64GB developer's edition were listed as out of stock on HTC's website last week. Now the company says they are restocking the popular items, offering alternatives to customers who like the One but want more versatility than the base models can offer.
The unlocked version has 32GB of internal storage and costs $574.99. It isn't tied to any particular carrier, so feel free to shop around for the best plan.
The 64GB developer edition will cost you $649.99. It also comes unlocked and has an unlocked bootloader as well, so you can root it and install a custom operating system if you want. In fact, HTC has released the source code for the One and developers have already rooted it.
The developer's edition may be of more interest to AT&T users, since the carrier has signaled that it will soon stop HTC from unlocking the bootloader on any HTC One sold through AT&T, completely preventing any rooting. You should still be fine if you have a One from another carrier, but AT&T is the only source for the 64GB model, meaning the developer's edition is the only way to get a 64GB rootable HTC One.
The aluminum unibody precludes an SD card slot, so that extra storage may be essential in the future.
The HTC One features a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch 1920x1080 pixel widescreen Super LCD 3 display, a 2300 mAh Li-Po battery, a 4-megapixel "Ultrapixel" camera with enhanced low-light sensitivity with 1080p HD video, up to 64GB of internal storage and runs Android 4.1.2.
