After just two seasons, it would appear VH1 has had enough of "Basketball Wives L.A." and has reportedly cancelled the show. Created and produced by Shaune O'Neal (ex-wife of NBA star Shaquille O'Neal), the show follows six women who at some point in their life had affiliation with the professional basketball league.

Though no official word has come from VH1, sources are revealing the drama-packed reality show did in fact receive a pink slip due to a decline in ratings. Just last season, two new cast members (Brooke Bailey and unofficial co-star, Bambi Johnson) were introduced into the mix in order to attract interest. It would prove unsuccessful as reports surfaced shortly after the end of season two that production would nearly replace the entire cast leaving Jackie Christie and Draya Michele. Even with hopes of revamping the sinking program with new cast members, "Basketball Wives L.A." just didn't have what it takes to stay afloat.

Those who never watched the show haven't really missed out. A spinoff to "Basketball Wives" in Miami, there was no real pizazz or in the case of reality shows - over-the-top drama to keep viewers' interest. Highlights of the past two seasons include the annual renewal of Jackie and husband Dougie Christie's wedding vows, along with some tension and "she said" gossip.

Upon hearing news of the show's cancellation, it appeared the public was kinda happy to see it go. EBONY magazine contributor Michael Arceneaux calls the show "TV foolishness." "Basketball Wives L.A.," along with other reality shows that feature an all-Black cast of women, have come under fire as some believe it portrays African-American women in a poor light.

If you were a fan of the show, you may still be in for some reality entertainment as news is now breaking that cast mate Draya Michele may get her own show on the network. Slated to follow Draya and her friends, the upcoming show would provide more insight into the famous party girl and urban magazine model. While no details have been released by VH1 regarding the show, the rumored title of the new show will be "Fine A** Girls."
