The April updates for Microsoft's Surface tablets have launched, and features similar characteristics to the March update.

For the Surface with Windows 8 Pro tablet, the firmware and driver updates include resolving an issue with the on-screen touch navigation in the UEFI boot menu, connectivity issues between the Surface Type and Touch cover, support for 106/109 keyboards, and problems with airplane mode which would disable the Wi-Fi driver.

The Surface with Windows RT's update all revolves with connectivity issues. The first improvement is with the Wi-Fi's handling a wide range of access points and resolves system crashes once again caused by Wi-Fi issues.

The updates are similar to the March update for both Surface tablets as both addressed fixes to Wi-Fi reliability such as conditions under roaming.

To manually install the updates, the following steps may be performed:

- Open PC Settings, by swiping in from right edge (or, if using a mouse, point to upper-right corner of screen),

- Tap or click Settings.

- Tap or click Change PC settings,

- Under PC settings, tap or click Windows Update,

- Tap or click Check for Updates.

If trouble persists in installing the updates for either tablets, click here.
