Things are certainly heating up on the Star Trek front. New posters, clips, trailers and behind-the-scenes details that some fans say are even too revealing. The newest poster, however, can't offend fans. The fiery image features Spock (Zachary Quinto) as he's engulfed in volcanic sparks, amping fans for "Star Trek Into Darkness."

In addition to the new poster, Star Trek fans got another taste of "Into Darkness" last night at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. Stars Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana and Quinto took the stage to promote the new film and introduced some brand new never-seen-before footage that's sure to wet fans' appetites. Check out the new footage below.

Although the Spock's may be the most alluring, he isn't the only character to get his or her own character poster. Captain Kirk (Pine) and Uhura (Saldana) are also featured on the thrilling posters, and if they're any indication of what the movie will entail, there's going to be a lot of pain and suffering for the three main characters. Check them out in the slideshow above.

And let's not stop there. Star Trek fans will be getting a whole new trailer on Tuesday, but not all of them are necessarily pleased with the news. Some complain that too much of the film has been previewed, which could potentially ruin the movie experience once it hits theaters on May 17. Here's what some fans are saying on IGN.

UnrealLuigi: "I hate how we are bombarded by so many tv spots and trailers that show a lot of the movie's coolest scenes. I miss the days of just getting 1 or 2 trailers for a movie, but I suppose the competition for blockbusters is only growing so the studios are doing everything they can to promote the hell out of their films..."

Jmarcroyal: "Yeah the Internet really ruined the movie experience. Back in the day you wouldn't know what's gonna happen, no spoilers, just a movie. Not to mention, the best part of going to the movies back in the day was the trailers, because you would see things you never knew were coming. Now the trailers get released online first, or at least simultaneously, I cant stand that..."

While some fans may be upset, that doesn't stop others from drooling over the enticing posters and riveting movie footage, so don't feel guilty for enjoying the content and preparing yourself for May 17.
