The latest Call of Duty: Black OPs 2 DLC Package, Uprising, will contain four new multiplayer maps and the new Mob of the Dead zombie mode. This mode features four gangsters in the model of old-school mobsters like Al Capone and John Dillinger trying to fight free of a zombie invasion of Alcatraz Island. The four characters available will, in turn, be voiced by several famous actors known for their roles as mobsters. Ray Liotta, Chazz Palminteri, Michael Madsen and Joe Pantoliano will all play different characters, as seen in the new teaser trailer for Mob of the Dead.
The video shows how all four characters got put on Alcatraz, as they were all part of the same gang. Newspaper headlines fly by as each character is introduced, and we get a glimpse into the crimes they committed. Then we see Alcatraz Island looking a little worse for wear, as bodies hang from meat hooks on guard towers and a host of zombies and other nefarious creatures rushing at players.
The video did reveal some interesting gameplay elements as well. Players will be able to use the environment to their advantage, using saw blades popping out of the wall to hack down zombies and a sprinkler system full of acid to burn enemies. Players will be able to take a gondola down to other parts of the prison, and the end of the video saw the characters using a cobbled-together airplane and runway to get off the island. While most of the video saw the characters use either pistols or standard issue (for mobsters) tommy guns, one part of the video did show a fiery tomahawk, which a player used to kill a zombie before it returned to him like the hammer of Thor.
Mob of the Dead and the rest of the Uprising pack will be available on April 16 for the Xbox 360, with a PlayStation 3 and PC release to follow afterwards
