The "50 Shades of Grey" movie casting arena is vicious. New contenders arrive every day. Some succeed while others' dreams are squandered. Big names disappear as soon as they appear. Candidates are left to the mercy of ruthless fans whose tweets and poll decisions can make or break their chances with one fell swoop. It's a tricky game, as some fan-favorites who fall to their demise claw their way back into the spotlight. In most recent "50 Shades" news, that's exactly what Hollywood royalties Ryan Gosling and Mila Kunis have done.
According to a recent poll from the men's magazine Details, the two have been deemed Hollywood's sexiest (the actual word used a bit more grotesque and rhymes with pluckable) celebrities, which is exactly what we need from our potential Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. The movie deserves Hollywood's "hottest" stars. The sexier the actors, the sexier the movie. If the film hopes to capture the same level of eroticism as the novel, then we need the likes of Gosling and Kunis.
Unfortunately, they've both made it clear that they will most likely not appear in the "50 Shades of Grey" movie. However, that doesn't stop fans from drooling over Hollywood's most pluckable stars.
Not only will Gosling likely steer clear from "50 Shades," but fans may not see him in any movies for awhile. Everybody wants a piece of Gosling. It's tiring. So, the actor has decided a few weeks back to take a break.
"I've been doing it too much," he said. "I've lost perspective on what I'm doing. I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that... I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does."
No break needed here Gosling. If you feel compelled for one last movie before you kick off your shoes, crack a beer and slump on the couch, stop by the office of E. L. James. We're sure she'd be happy to see you.
Kunis has also shattered the dreams of many Kunis-for-Ana hopefuls. "Gosh, this '50 Shades of Grey' thing is just not gonna leave is it," she said. "No, you will not see me in '50 Shades of Grey.' I'm sorry." So are we.
So there you have it. Two of the stars best suited for Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele are out of the picture, however, you can never be sure. Perhaps if we harass them enough they'll change their minds.
