Anne Hathaway is set to reunite with her "Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan for his new film "Interstellar."
According to Deadline, the Oscar winning actress is finalizing a deal to star opposite Matthew McConaughey in the film. Nolan is known for keeping his projects secret and therefore very little is known about the project. However a short synopsis was revealed by the Guardian. They said the film was about a group of space travelers that journey through a wormhole. The script is currently being rewritten by Nolan's brother Jonathan.
The film becomes Hathaway's first major role since she won the Academy Award for her Fantine in "Les Miserables" The will next be seen in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut, "Don Jon," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and is set to reprise her role as Jewel in the upcoming animated sequel "Rio 2." Hathaway was also seen in "One Day" and "Love and Other Drugs" with Jake Gyllenhaal.
"Interstellar" has been in production for a few years and previously had other major directors attached to it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Steven Spielberg was once slated to direct but decided to leave the project in favor of another film. However it is unclear if he remains attached to it in any capacity. The film was originally in production through Paramount Studios but since Nolan has a contract with Warner Bros., it will be a joint venture by the two studios.
"Interstellar" is slated to start shooting later this year and will open in theaters on November 27, 2014.
