Don't you hate when television shows infuriate you? True, sometimes the pain and anguish can be positive. It can keep you engaged and excited for the next episode, but sometimes the aggravating news is irreversible. Sometimes there is no next episode to make up for the show's blunders, as is the case for the television show "Girls."

Fans of the hit HBO series "Girls" received terrible, irreparable news when they heard actor Christopher Abbott, one of the show's central characters, would not be returning for season three.

A representative for Abbott said in an e-mail Thursday morning that Abbott was "grateful for the experience of collaborating with Lena, Judd and the entire 'Girls' cast and crew, but right now he's working on numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show."

Fans are left to wonder what other projects could be more enticing than "Girls." The series has quickly become one of HBO's most popular series. The first two seasons alone catapulted Abbott and his co-stars into stardom, including the creator, director and lead actress Lena Dunham and Allison Williams.

Abbott played Charlie, a young successful entrepreneur whose relationship with long-time girlfriend Marnie (Williams) keeps fans screaming at the television screen, frustrated with the couple's back and forth romance. Season two ended with Charlie and Marnie patching things up and admitting their mutual, unconditional love to one another. So fans are now curious as to how HBO will replace such a pivotal character?

The third season of "Girls" is now in production, and fans have to assume that the couple's rekindled relationship won't make it past the first episode. Perhaps the successful Charlie will have to jet off somewhere for business, or perhaps the couple will follow in their own footsteps and break things off as quickly as they got back together. Who knows? We'll just have to wait until season three to find out.
