Season three of "The Walking Dead" has ended, but that won't keep fans from speculating on what's to come. In typical fashion, last week's season finale left fans' jaws glued to the floor as Andrea (Laurie Holden) shoots herself after suffering a vicious attack from Zombie Milton (Dallas Roberts). Now that one of the show's central characters is out of the picture, where will season four pick up?

In a recent interview with Hollywood Life, actor Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, opened up about following season of "The Walking Dead."

"I think [the governor's] evolution of a bad guy is not dead yet," he said." To reach the comic book status, like in the comic book, the guy is so ferocious, he's on the precipice of becoming that guy. So the last episode wasn't about the war, it was about who is becoming what in that world. Carl, what he has become, Rick, what he has become, what Daryl has become. That's the intro into season four."

Over the course of season three, fans saw The Governor (David Morrissey) inch closer and closer to the brink of insanity. Towards the end, it becomes clear that he's gone completely off the wall. Reedus points out that The Governor isn't the only character swallowed in darkness.

"[Carl's] dark right now. I think he's going to get much darker. I think all of us are real dark right now," he said. "I think having these people relying on [Daryl] is something he's never had before and he has this new sense of self worth that he never thought he could ever have. So through these people, that's the glue that's keeping him around. I think he'll go hard again after [killing] Merle."

As for Andrea, she may have met her maker in the season three finale, but fans could see more of her in season four. "The Walking Dead" is full of flashbacks, some of which may center around Andrea in the future. Robert Kirkman, "The Walking Dead" comic book writer, says that there is "definitely some room [for] the relationship between Michonne and Andrea, it's always possibly."

Holden expressed similar sentiments. "Anything's possible. Who knows what they have up their sleeve? There may be scenes of Andrea and Michonne that the audience wanted to see. You may see more of renegade-Robert-Kirkman-badass-Andrea."

That's certainly a lot of flesh to chew while we wait for season four. "The Walking Dead" will return to AMC in October.
