In a recent interview with "Flicks and Bits" Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro revealed his experiences working on his new film "Savages."

Del Toro, who will star in Oliver Stone's new film, plays the role of Lado and according to Del Toro his character is a psychopath who works for the Mexican drug Cartel under his boss Elena (Salma Hayek). He revealed that Lado's character develops throughout the movie becoming more independent and learning how the drug cartel runs.

Del Toro stated that working with Stone was incredible because "Stone is one of those directors who brings his A-game whether he succeeds or not."

During production Del Toro stated that Stone was "on the ball all the time" and that he "pushed people to try to be the best that they could." Del Toro also talked about how it was to work with his co-stars Salma Hayek and John Travolta. He stated that Hayek "was funny and brought character to the production." As for Travolta, Del Toro revealed that he has been a Travolta fan from Grease but he has never seen Saturday Night Fever. Del Toro added that "it was a pleasure working with him and that they had a good time on set."

"Savages" is based on the Don Winslow best-selling crime novel that was named one of the New York Time's Top ten books of 2010. The film follows the story of Pot growers Ben and Chon as they face off against the Mexican drug cartel who kidnapped their shared girlfriend. The film opens nationwide on July 6th and is rated R for strong brutal and grisly violence, some graphic sexuality, nudity, drug use and language throughout. The film premiered in Los Angeles on Monday June 25.

Aside from Del Toro and Hayek, Mexican actor and oscar Nominee Demian Bichir, and telenovela star Sandra Echeverria headline the Latin American stars in the film.
