Samsung rumor site SamMobile got it hands on Samsung Galaxy S4 running an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, and the benchmarks are impressive.

"We are just BLOWN away from the results we got. The Galaxy S4 crushed every other device, even the HTC One and the Sony XPERIA Z. We used Antutu and Quadrant as our benchmark tools. The device received a score of 27417 on Antutu and 12726 on Quadrant," SamMobile writes.

In comparison, the Galaxy S4 running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor scored a 25900 on AnTuTu, according to Android Authority tests.

The Sony Xperia Z scored 20607, the Droid DNA got 20594, The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 scored 17353 and the Galaxy S3 got 15771.

If these numbers hold true, it means the Exynos 5 really is a much faster and more powerful processor than the Snapdragon 600, a result that's been predicted by analysts even though there's been no confirmation until now.

Unfortunately for most customers, 70 percent of the first 10 million units of the S4 being shipped will have the Snapdragon, including all version sold in the United States, the UK, Scandinavia and most of Europe.

Asia and Africa will get the Exynos 5 for the most part. The divide is a calculated move on Samsung's part to avoid the shipping delays it experienced when it released the Galaxy S3. Mass production of the Exynos 5 doesn't ramp up until the second quarter of this year, but it has plenty of Snapdragons on hand.

It also means that consumers who want the faster processor may need to wait for the GT-I9500 version of the S4, not the GT-I9505 that will be available in most countries at launch.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 features a 1.6GHz eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor or a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor (depending on country), 2GB of RAM, a 5-inch 1920x1080 Full HD AMOLED display at 441 ppi, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with 1080p HD video, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, internal storage between 16 and 64GB, an SD card slot that can accommodate an additional 64GB, a polycarbonate body, Smart Pause and floating touch tech and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
