The World Cup qualifiers continued on Tuesday with 32 UEFA teams in action. Here is how the matches ended and the implications in each group.

Group A

Serbia took down Scotland 2-0 and officially eliminated the Scots from the 2014 World Cup. Meanwhile Belgium took down Macedonia 1-0 while Croatia took down Wales 2-1. With the loss, Macedonia cannot longer qualify directly and would need to win its remaining four matches to have a chance at the playoff.

Croatia and Belgium sit atop the group with 16 points but Belgium holds an edge in goal differential.

Group B

The Italians defeated Malta 2-0 courtesy of goals from Mario Balotelli. Meanwhile the Danish failed to pick up ground in a 1-1 draw against Bulgaria but the Czech Republic defeated Armenia 3-0. Italy sits atop the group with 13 points while Bulgaria continues in second with 10. However, the Czechs are now two points behind Bulgaria with eight points. Denmark, with only six points, is starting to fall behind the pack with five points.

Group C

Germany continued its stellar play with a 4-1 win over Kazakhstan while Ireland and Austria drew 2-2. The Germans have a stranglehold on the group with 16 points Austria, Sweden, and Ireland are tied with eight points for the second playoff spot.

Group D

The Dutch continued their perfect play with their sixth win in six qualifiers; they destroyed Romania 4-0. Turkey drew 1-1 with Hungary while Estonia kept its hopes alive with a win over Andorra. Hungary holds a one point lead over Romania for second place in the group.

Group F

Portugal and Israel picked up two wins and continued tied for second place in Group F. Both squads have 11 points and are one point behind Russia for the top of the group; however, the Russians have played two games less than the Portuguese and Israelis.

Group H

Poland picked up a huge 5-0 win over San Marino to inch four points closer to the second spot in the group; they are now tied with Ukraine who defeated Moldova 2-1. In the crucial match between Montenegro and England, Wayne Rooney gave the English a 1-0 lead but wound up tying 1-1; Montenegro leads the group with 14 points while England only has 12.
