Tilda Swinton Caught Sleeping At The MOMA Museum [VIDEO]: Performance Called 'The Maybe'

On Saturday March 23^rd visitors of the Museum of Modern Art had the chance to see Oscar winning Actress Tilda Swinton sleeping in a glass box.

Swinton was acting for a performance piece entitled "The Maybe." She wore a light blue shirt, dark blue pants and shoes while lying on white bedding with eyeglasses beside her.

The description card stated "Living artist, glass, steel, mattress, pillow, linen, water, and spectacles," and the piece was first performed by Swinton in 1995 in London and then in 1996 in Rome at the Museo Barraco.

Margaret Doyle, the spokesperson for the MOMA, stated "the piece will be repeated periodically throughout the year." She added, "The nature of the concept is that it not be announced in advance, nor publicized by the museum."

Swinton also confirmed the news and said she will do it a half dozen more times before the end of the year.

The 52-year old Oscar winning actress took home her Academy Award for her role in Michael Clayton. She then hit headlines when the Academy snubbed her performance in "We Need to Talk About Kevin" in 2011.

Swinton is best known for work in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "Burn After Reading." She last appeared in Wes Anderson's "Moonrise Kingdom." This year she will re-team with Jim Jarmusch for "Only Lovers Left Alive" and with Anderson for "The Grand Budapest Hotel." She will also appear in Terry Gilliam's next picture entitled "The Zero Theorem" with Matt Damon and Christoph Waltz.
