Less than a year after "Pokémon Black 2" and "Pokémon White 2" launched, the next installment of the Pokémon franchise will soon be released.

Is it too soon?

In early January, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata confirmed the sixth generation Pokémon games - "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y." What should be unique about the upcoming games is that they will be exclusive for the Nintendo 3DS.

Although it was inevitable the Pokémon franchise would be carried over to the Nintendo 3DS, the decision might have been too sudden.

The fifth generation games, which featured "Pokémon Black and White," first launched in Sept. 18, 2010, in Japan, ahead of the March 6, 2011, North America debut. A little over a year later, their sequels made their release.

In comparison, the fourth generation games had at least a two-year gap. "Pokémon Diamond and Pearl" launched in Sept. 26, 2006, in Japan and April 22, 2007, in North America, while its third game "Pokémon Platinum" was released on Sept. 13, 2008, and March 22, 2009, in Japan and North America, respectively.

The third generation games, featuring "Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire" and "Pokémon Emerald," also had a two-year gap.

But now, it only took one year? Do Pokémon fans think it is too soon?

Not at all.

Latinos Post asked readers if that was the case, and a comfortable 85.23 percent stated "No," it is not too early for the sixth generation games' release. With 4,826 surveyed, 4,113 readers polled "No."

Fans' believing it is too early for "Pokémon X and Y" accounted for 14.77 percent of the poll.

Readers also expressed their thoughts:

Ric: "Psh it's never too early for new Pokémon!"

Mario49: "I feel like they rushed it by making it one year before "Black and White 2.'"

Josh: "1. Where is the "Ruby & Sapphire" remakes. 2. Don't make the Pokémon overly designed like B/W. 3. Adding too many new Pokémon can make someone like me not bothering to remembering their names. If there is more than six legendary Pokémon I'm going to be disappointed. Sorry I'm angry."

Anonymous: "I think it's too early, because they just got done with black and white 2. I feel like they need to give Unova a bit more justice, by giving it another year to develop into new games. With X and Y being released this early, I feel like they are trying to expand the Pokémon universe to quickly without taking the time to get fans to really appreciate it."

That Lade that likes Pokemon: "I love new Pokémon. Don't get me wrong. But now they are getting like apple. They come out with a new game, everyone buys and loves it, THEN BOOM 3 months later NEW GAME COMING OUT! And then people are like "why didn't I just wait for the new one? They come out too fast -_- " if they keep this up they're gonna start losing people like apple is where they to are coming out too fast. If Pokémon wants to make a GOOD GAME (they are all good now) and keeping paying customers. First they need to SLOW DOWN. Like the people who make Skyrim. They take their time and make great games and win rewards and stuff. NEXT like those people they need to slowly work and take their sweet time, so when they do come got they look and work great and they sell well AND keep customers. And lastly NEW STORIES!!! I'm sick of just getting rid of team WHATEVER then BOOM THE END! They need something new and FRESH!!! They should also make it where we can make our own people! But keep the movie making and contest!!"

The sixth generation games will launch simultaneously across Australia, Japan, Europe, and North America in October.
