A day after Jude Law quit production of "Jane Got a Gun" replacements have quickly emerged.
The LA times is reporting that Tobey Maguire, Jeff Bridges and Jake Gyllenhaal have been shortlisted as the front runners to replace Law as the villain John Bishop.
The film tells the story of a woman whose outlaw husband returns home riddled with bullet wounds and barely alive. When her husband's gang eventually tracks him down to finish the job, she is forced to reach out to an ex-lover and ask if he will help defend her farm.
Production has scrambled throughout the week after director Lynne Ramsay did not show up on set. The LA Times revealed that Ramsey had quit on Saturday after many speculated that she had renounced on Monday. Gavin O'Connor was then hired to replace the director but Law quit stating that he signed on to work with Ramsey not O'Connor.
The film has been in development for a number of months and is reportedly budgeted at $15 million. A few weeks ago the film suffered its first loss when German Actor Michael Fassbender left production due to scheduling issues with X-Men. However, it was later revealed that he clashed with Ramsey and did not want to work with her anymore.
Maguire will next be seen in "The Great Gatsby" while Jeff Bridges was last nominated for an Academy Award for his turn in "True Grit." Gyllenhaal last starred in "End of Watch" and will next be seen in "Nailed with James Marsden.
"Jane Got a Gun" also stars Natalie Portman who is also producing and Joel Edgerton and is also produced by Scott Steindorff, Aleen Keshishian, and Terry Dougas.
