After suffering from seizures last week, hip hop artist Lil Wayne was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, where he remained for six days before being sent home on Monday. However, while he was hospitalized, TMZ released a report saying that the New Orleans-born rapper was being read his last rites. They also reported that the seizures were induced after Lil Wayne overdosed on sizzurp, a popular concoction of cough syrup and codeine.

During a recent interview with MTV's "RapFix Live," the president of Lil Wayne's record label Young Money revealed how the rapper reacted to hearsay that he was on his death bed.

"I was actually sitting right next to him, honestly, when it happened, and his mom was in the other room, and his face dropped," Young Money president Mack Maine told MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway on Wednesday. "I just saw it in his face, like, 'I can't believe that.'"

Mack continued saying, "A lot of blogs and stuff put out some foolishness, but that wasn't true. He has four kids. Imagine his daughter hearing that somewhere in school or something like that, so he wasn't too happy about that."

Now that the rap star is home, Mack thanked all fans and supporters that prayed for him to make a full recovery.

"He's blessed, he's up, he's in good spirits, and we'd like to thank all the fans for the prayers. A lot of people reached out and showed love, but Wayne's at home, he's relaxing," he said, assuring the public that all is well. "He's actually been in good health for a minute. They just wanted to run a few tests on him, that's why they kept him longer than expected, but he's been good."
