Should Tim Tebow Consider the Arena League?

Could Tim Tebow become the next Kurt Warner?

There's a team that's put out an open invitation to Tim Tebow. Best of all, he wouldn't have to go to Canada. 

The Orlando Predators of the Arena League have extended an open invitation for New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow. If he takes it, he's likely to get a lot less money, a whole lot less exposure, but will have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of an NFL legend. 

Predators owner Brett Bouchy thinks Tebow would be perfect for the smaller confines and maverick play opportunities of the Arena league, according to the Orlando Sentinel. 

"I think he would definitely improve as a quarterback in our league. Kurt Warner told me once that when he got back to the NFL after playing in the Arena League, the NFL game was like slow motion. Everything in the Arena League is just so much faster and quicker and predicated on accuracy. Whenever Tim is willing, we have a contract waiting for him to sign." 

That signing may take a while. Although Tebow would likely make the maximum for an Arena league player (estimated to be in the low six figures), that would pale in comparison to his salary with the Jets. Tebow is scheduled to earn $2.6 million in 2013. How much of that he'll actually make is unknown, as the Jets have long been speculated to release him before the start of the season. That speculation has increased recently with the Jets signing QB David Garrard last week. 

So far, the controversial quarterback has been without many takers as the Jets have tried to trade him. Nevertheless, Bouchy knows that although it's a longshot, Tim will definitely be welcomed with open arms in Orlando if this whole NFL thing falls through. 

"Tim would certainly want to first exhaust his opportunities in the NFL, but we'd love to have him...Whenever Tim is willing, we have a contract waiting for him to sign."
