The Latino stars of Oscar winner Oliver Stone's new film "Savages" got together to promote their new film over the weekend.

 Mexican stars Salma Hayek (Frida), Demian Bichir (A Better Life), and Sandra Echeverria (Relaciones Peligrosas) and Puerto Rican actor Benicio del Toro (Traffic) got together in Los Angeles to promote their new film "Savages." The film is about Pot growers Ben and Chon who face off against the Mexican drug cartel who kidnapped their shared girlfriend. Hayek plays the leader of the drug cartel who tries to impose her business plans in the US and ends up kidnapping Ben and Chon's girlfriend. Hayek stated that she "loved playing the part and she was very happy." She stated that "she playing the role because it was rare to find a character" like the queen of the cartel.

Alongside Hayek, Bichir and Del Toro will play Hayek's subordinates while Echeverria will play Hayek's daughter.  During their interview Demian Bichir stated that "the film came at a great time due to the circumstances that Mexico is living."

The film will also star John Travolta, Blake Lively, Taylor Kitsch, and Emile Hirsch and is based on the Don Winslow best selling crime novel that was named one of the New York Times' top 10 books of 2010. 'Savages' opens nationwide on July 6th.
