Penelope Cruz was not going to let a silly thing like pregnancy get in the way of having fun or being the reason men will get slapped by their girlfriends after asking "Why can't you look like this?"
The Oscar winning star was seen in a little black bikini (photo) showing off a very pronounced baby bump while vacationing on a beach in Barbados. The actress went to the islands for a few days of R&R with her husband Javier Bardem and their two-year old son Leo.
The sex of the child is unknown but with pictures like this one, he or she will definitely have fans waiting for their arrival. Cruz, 38, first announced her pregnancy in late February during an interview with Spanish TV station TVE!, although the news had been rumored for weeks. She was quoted as being "tremendously happy and excited" to be giving son Leo a baby brothe or sister, according to US Magazine.
Cruz and Bardem were married in July 2010. Javier Bardem is also an Oscar winner, having won the award for "No Country for Old Men" in 2007. One would think with a house of Oscar winners that they'd be used to or more accepting of the barrage of cameras constantly pointed their way, but it's just the opposite. Cruz is well-known for being protective of her privacy. In a 2011 issue of Vogue following Leo's birth, she expressed a desire to not let the work interfere with her child being a normal kid.
"I want my son...and my kids if I have more - to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible," Cruz said. "The fact that his father and I have chosen to do the work that we do doesn't give anybody the right to invade our privacy."
