This weekend was supposed to be an intense three day period of rumors and back-door deals being made during the new "legal tampering" period that precedes the official start of free agency.

The Signings

Instead, teams have spent much of their time and salary cap focused on resigning their own and veterans that can make deals without waiting for free agency to begin.

The Kansas City Chiefs have reached a three-year deal with veteran CB Dunta Robinson, who was recently released by the Atlanta Falcons. The move fills a major need for Kansas City, who can now focus their attention to OL in the upcoming draft, but more importantly, it puts some leadership in the secondary to go along with CB Brandon Flowers and S Eric Berry.

The Washington Redskins locked in impending free agent TE Logan Paulsen to a three-year deal also. Paulsen is a bit of an underrated asset in the Redskins offense since all eyes are on RGIII and RB Alfred Morris. His stat sheet is pedestrian, but he's young, and PFF has him rated as a top 10 blocker, which is important for their franchise QB's health moving forward.

Bills CB Leodis McKelvin won't be going anywhere. The former 2008 first-round pick reached an agreement for a four-year deal worth just a little north of $20 million. Leodis is a serviceable CB, but hasn't quite lived up to expectations since the Bills snagged him out of Troy. However, the secondary is a major strength with ball-hawking S Jairus Byrd roaming the back end, so McKelvin won't be facing teams #1 WRs very much in 2013.

Cuts

It happens every year; surprise cuts of veterans who are coming off productive seasons are given the pink slip. This year is no exception.

Former Pro-Bowler and ire of Commissioner Goodell, LB James Harrison, was released by the Steelers who need to clear cap space and are looking to get younger on defense.

Despite turning in the best performance from the WR group all postseason for the Ravens, WR Anquan Boldin is being given the ultimatum to either restructure his contract and take a paycut or be released. It's a little bit of a game of chicken, especially since Boldin vowed he would hang up the cleats if he was released, but for someone so productive this late in his career, it's hard to see it happening.

Rumor

A few media sources are reporting from their sources that WR Mike Wallace has a tentative agreement with the Miami Dolphins for 5 years, $60 million dollars. These outlets have been pretty spot on when they credit their sources, so while it's far from a done deal, there's reason to take it seriously.
