The Apple vs. Samsung patent infringement trial continues, but this time in the United Kingdom where a ruling has been made.

London court Judge Christopher Floyd ruled on Wednesday that Apple's products has not infringed on Samsung's patents. The case in question revolved around the ability to send and receive information over 3G networks.

Although it's a win for Apple, the Cupertino-based company declined to comment on the verdict.

A Samsung spokeswoman did state the following, "We are disappointed by the court's decision. Upon a thorough review of the judgment, we will decide whether to file an appeal. For decades, we have heavily invested in pioneering the development of technological innovations in the mobile industry, which have been constantly reflected in our products."

Samsung was hoping to claim approximately 2.5 percent in royalties from Apple devices that utilize the 3G networks.

The U.K. verdict comes as the U.S. trial continues ahead of the second patent infringement trial scheduled for March 2014.

As Latinos Post reported, Apple initially won a $1.05 billion verdict against Samsung last August, however, U.S. District Court Judge Lucy H. Koh, issued a ruling last Friday which cut the billion-dollar victory down 40 percent.

Judge Koh's decision is based on the notion the jury incorrectly calculated the infringed patents' worth from the 2012 trial.

"The need for a new trial could have been avoided had Apple chosen a more circumspect strategy or provided more evidence to allow the jury or the court to determine the appropriate award for a shorter notice period," she said in her ruling.

"We are pleased that the court decided to strike $450,514,650 from the jury's award," said Samsung said in a statement. "Samsung intends to seek further review as to the remaining award."

As with the U.K. ruling, Apple has not commented on Judge Koh's ruling.

The second American patent infringement trial for March 2014 will include Apple's iPhone 5 and Samsung's Galaxy S3 smartphones.
