"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" were confirmed on Jan. 8 leading to a galore of speculation.

Nintendo has high hopes for the sixth generation Pokémon games, noting them among the company's "most-anticipated" games ahead of their October 2013 release.

What has been confirmed since January are six new Pokémon: the three starters, two legendary, and the next Eevee evolution.

One of the topics receiving speculation is the next region.

Based on the trailer for the upcoming games, landmarks were found leading many fans guessing the region will be based somewhere in Europe. So far, the top two contenders in theory are either France or England.

Having a region not based on Japan isn't new as the fifth generation games - "Pokémon Black and White" - are based on New York City.

Latinos Post did cover the France vs. England debate in January, and based on a poll conducted by Latinos Post, it appears England is out of the question.

We asked readers, "Where Do You Think The Sixth Generation Game Is Based In?" After receiving 3,025 votes, the results were neck and neck with two of the four choices. Readers were provided with the options England, France, Across Europe, or Not Europe.

The winner of the poll is "Across Europe" with 44.83 percent, or 1,356 votes. Therefore, fans believe the sixth generation game will cover various European countries, perhaps soon we'll see features from Italy, Germany, and Spain as well.

Coming in second place is France. The French Republic was not too far from topping the poll, in fact it did at various points. Fans believe the next game will be based in France with 41.12 percent, or 1,244 votes.

In third place, "Not Europe" received 7.77 percent, or 235 votes.

England was surprisingly last with 6.28 percent, or 190 votes.

"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" will have a simultaneous release date across Australia, Europe, Japan, and North America.
