DePaul vs Syracuse

When Syracuse is have a season where they look like title contenders one night, and tournament pretenders another night, it helps when DePaul looks like, well, DePaul.

After surviving a recent skid of a few losses and a slide in the Big East Conference standings, Brandon Triche and James Southerland helped the Orangemen get back on track with 15 and 22 points, respectively.

It was the final home game of their careers, so you can imagine they spent a fair amount of time just soaking it all in.

"It was good," said Southerland, who grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds for his first-ever double-double in his first start of the season. "I felt great being out there, especially in the last Big East game. Brandon and I did a great job of leading the team."

After losing three in a row, Syracuse got back to what had them on a 38-game winning streak: playing with tenacity on the defensive end. The Orangemen forced 18 turnovers and tallied 12 blocks to go along with 9 steals as they turned in an impressive stat line.

It'll be interesting to see which Syracuse team we get from here on out.

Saint Louis vs Xavier

Saint Louis was another in a long line of teams ready to cement their place at the top of a conference, and much like the way its gone in other matchup Wednesday night, the crowning will have to wait.

Xavier took the Cinderella story Billikins into overtime, took the lead, and never looked back.

Saint Louis ran cold in overtime with only one field goal and seven points, making what was a close game at the end of regulation seem like a blowout.

Things in the Atlantic 10 Conference has opened up with the loss as Saint Louis is now tied with VCU at 12-3.
