It looks like fans of Telltale Game's The Walking Dead will get a sequel season in the fall of this year. Originally reported by Eurogamer as coming out in autumn of 2014, Telltale quickly went to Gameinformer to clarify the release goal of the new game.

"The current estimated release window for Season Two of The Walking Dead is for fall of 'this' year (2013), and not 'next' year (2014) as has been reported after a recent interview. We apologize for any confusion and thank you and all of our fans for your continued excitement for Telltale's series."

This news is coming after the first season of the series picked up two awards at the BAFTA video game awards ceremony for Best Story and Best Handheld/ Mobile Game. Telltale also confirmed that gamers can expect additional content between seasons one and two of the game.

In an interview with IGN, Telltale CEO Dan Connors revealed that the company is working hard to repeat the success that the first season of the game had commercial and critically.

"Right now it's about figuring out the right way to approach the story, the right way to handle this that's going to work for what we're trying to accomplish and give it legs. Certainly we believe there are more stories to tell in The Walking Dead's universe. The show continues to be huge. People understand what we're doing. We're going to continue to work on it. It's a rich world for what we're trying to do. We still have a lot of ideas to explore in that world."

The Walking Dead comics, television show, and video game are all getting their fair share of praise, so it comes to no surprise that the game series would continue. No word yet on what the story will be like, but perhaps the so-called season 1.5 episode will give gamers a hint of what to expect before the premiere of season two.
