No.15 Marquette survives an upset by Rutgers

Vegas gave slim odds to the Golden Eagles coming into the season, but Marquette had bigger dreams than they were given credit for.

"Nobody expected us to do anything," said Blue, who had 22 points and hit the game-clinching free throws after struggling for several games. "I like coming on the road and stealing wins like that. Nobody thought we could come out on the road and win games like this but we all stick together. None of this would be possible if it wasn't for all of us."

That dream was almost derailed when Rutgers took a commanding lead, up ten at the half and piling onto it early in the second.

Finally the Golden Eagles went on a 12-2 run after barely putting into a dent into the deficit for the first 30 minutes. Maybe that energy came when coach Buzz Williams subbed five for five in search of a spark, but whatever it was, it kept Marquette in third place in the conference and just half a game behind Georgetown.

No.9 Kansas State Cruises over TCU to remain tied with Kansas in the Big 12

TCU has been down right terrible on the road, so the deck was stacked against them going to Kansas State, who took the reins of a 42-27 lead and never looked back.

TCU made it a little interesting at one point in the second half to pull within five, but that threat was averted and the lead was reestablished.

The Wildcats have their sights set on the Jayhawks, determined to win a conference title, and they want it badly.

"We're tired of KU dominating, basically," Martavious Irving said. "We want to make some changes around here, so that's what we work toward every day."

The Wildcats end their season with a tough battle against #13 Oklahoma State Saturday.
