Nokia Lumia 920 Sales Numbers: Lumia Series Sales Reach Two Million in China in Three Months

Nokia has yet to disclose the sales figures of their Nokia Lumia 920 series, but a report shows millions of overall Lumia devices were sold in one country alone.

According to China's WinP, the Lumia devices with the Windows Phone 8 operating system have made two million activations.

Sources have told the Chinese site that the two million activations were done within three months. To be specific, WinP noted the feat was done between Dec. 5 and March 5.

An image did leak showing a group of people with Nokia's Global Vice President and head of Nokia China Gustavo Eichelmann celebrating the milestone with food such as cake and fruits.

The news of Nokia devices reaching two million activations in China come as "huge lines" were reported for the Nokia Lumia 920. Back in December, NokiaPowerUser noted the Lumia 920 sold out within two hours. The smartphone started to sell at 3 p.m. local time and then ran out of stock by 5 p.m.

The Nokia Lumia 920 was recently awarded best smartphone camera by Gizmodo and Best Smartphone 2012 by Engadget with 43.45 percent of the vote, defeating Apple's iPhone 5, Samsung's Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2, HTC's One X, Google's Nexus 4, and fellow Windows Phone 8 smartphone HTC 8X.

The Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8 smartphone has a screen size of 4.5 inches, 32GB of internal storage with 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels with LED flash, Bluetooth 4.0, an NFC chip, 2,000mAh battery capacity, and is available in black, gray, red, yellow and white color options.

Nokia China could see further successful sales as the recently announced mid-ranged Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 will soon make their way to China. The two latest Lumia devices were announced at the 2013 Mobile World Congress and are set for a second quarter release date.
