Movie director Bryan Singer confirmed that Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry has signed on to star in the upcoming X-Men sequel, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" today on twitter.

On Saturday, Berry, who played the role of weather mutant Storm in the last "X-Men" blockbuster, said "I'm going to be there. I don't know how [much] of the old cast will be there, but I think we're pretty official."

"I loved her and the people love Storm ... so I'm happy to come back," said the "Monster's Ball" actress. "And I love working with Hugh Jackman [who plays Wolverine]. Bryan Singer is back directing ... so it'll be good. Ian McKellen is back and Patrick Stewart is back, so it's good."

Singer officially announced Berry's return along with the addition of another new cast member, Omar Sy, via Twitter.

"Couldn't be more excited that #HalleBerry has joined the cast of #XMen #DaysofFuturePast. Hopefully she can improve the weather in Montreal," the writer/producer posted on Monday, two days after he posted that he was "thrilled to welcome the brilliant #OmarSy from the amazing film #TheIntouchables to the cast."

Berry joins a the group of original-trilogy cast mates that includes Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, and Anna Paquin, plus Peter Dinklage.
