Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean Update: Android 4.1.2 Has Almost Completely Rolled Out, US Still Experiencing Delays

Samsung has almost completed rolling out the latest version of Android to the Galaxy S3, with only a few countries still without the update, according to Sam Mobile.

While most international customers have been able to download the latest update, certain carriers in certain countries have not rolled out the update yet. Countries included in the list include Brazil, Germany, and South Africa. The update hit the United States market recently, though there appears to be some problems with the roll out, as stated by Phones Review.

The Jelly Bean update comes with a wide variety of new features, including Page Buddy, a new notification bar, Group Cast App, Paper Artist App, and the ability to disable the brightness slider on the notification bar. Some other features of the new Jelly Bean update will be similar to those found in the Galaxy Note 2, such as the Gallery App, Multi-View, and continuous Input in Samsung Keyboard.

Users who have not received the update have a variety of ways they can still get Jelly Bean 4.1.2. Samsung Galaxy S3 owners can look into the company's Firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) service. Additionally, users can connect the device with Samsung Kies to receive the update.

This is good news for most Samsung users, as now the company can focus more on bringing a new 4.2 update to their mobile devices. As more and more carriers and phone models get the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update, mobile carriers can start tailoring the 4.2 update to their assorted phones. While some phones still lack 4.1.2, the gap between the haves and have-nots is shrinking rapidly.
