When your nickname is "The Freak", things like this are bound to happen.

San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum is being accused by his former landlady of damaging a townhouse he rented back in late 2011. According to Mindy Freile, Lincecum lived up to his nickname and destroyed "bedding, doors, carpet, pillows, kitchenware, linens, furniture, household appliances, art work, decorations, patio furniture, lights, lamps and mirrors, among other things."

What other things were left, besides curtains and oxygen?

The damages were said to have reached an estimated $200,000. That's probably enough to buy a few townhouses in some places. Lincecum must have been as thorough at home as he is on the mound to do that much.

With this possibly becoming a distraction, you'd think he'd go towards the term that baseball players equally love and hate: arbitration. It's a route the right-hander has tried, but seems to have struck out...twice. Lincecum's leasee permits him to settle any lawsuit or dispute with Freile in arbitration, but Friele wants to take him to trial. To make matters worse, judges have sided with the landlord refused not only keeping the arbitration private, but declined arbitration altogether.

Lincecum's 2013 salary is $22 million and even though he's seeking a private settlement, his lawyer is ready to face Freile in court. "We anticipate that the case will now be litigated in the trial court, and Mr. Lincecum will vigorously contest the allegations," said Lincecum's attorney Peter Bransten.

Despite being on the wrong side of the law at the moment, the two time Cy Young Award winner felt better about his latest efforts on the diamond. The newly short-haired Lincecum allowed 3 runs on four hits in 1 1/3 innings during a recent spring training game against the Dodgers. Despite giving up 3 runs, he didn't let it get him down. "It's a good sign," said Lincecum, "when you feel the ball's coming out of your hand better than the year before."
