On March 1st Todd Robinson's new film "Phantom" opens nationwide.

The film stars David Duchovny and Ed Harris and tells the story of the haunted Captain of a Soviet submarine who holds the fate of the world in his hands. Forced to leave his family behind, he is charged with leading a covert mission cloaked in mystery.

The film has scored poor reviews with an 18 percent aggregate score on Rotten Tomatoes. Variety stated, "The potential for screw-tightening suspense gets lost amid the ineffectual dramatics in Phantom."

Village Voice was also negative and said "What is up with combinations of Ed Harris, water, and unbelievably hokey endings?"

The New York Magazine was also dismissive stating "To sustain tension, you need the kind of claustrophobic camera movement, high-strung talk and gritty character development that are badly needed in any submarine movie and are sadly missing in Phantom."

Time Out New York gave the film a positive review writing "As far as such potboilers go, Phantom is literate, tense and, thankfully, modest."

Robinson returns to the director's chair after a 7-year absence. He last directed the 2006 Film Noir "Lonely Hearts" with Salma Hayek, John Travolta, and Jared Leto. Harris recently won a Golden Globe for his role as John McCain in "Game Change." He also starred in "Man on a Ledge" with Sam Worthington, Jaime Bell and Genesis Rodriguez. He will next be seen in Michael Bay's "Pain and Gain" with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson. Duchovny is currently starring in the Golden Globe winning series "Californication." He will also star in "After the Fall" and "Relative Insanity" with Maggie Grace and Helen Hunt.

The movie also stars William Finchtner, Sean Patrick Flannery, and Lance Henrickson.

"Phantom" will be distributed by RCR distribution and is expected to debut in 2,000 theaters. The film is rated R for Violence.
