It would take a lot to upstage the upcoming Rock vs. Cena rematch at Wrestlemania 29. Then again, the Undertaker is no ordinary man.

The Dead Man from parts unknown surprised crowds last week at a WWE house show in Waco, Texas. Since his return, speculation has run rampant about who his opponent would be and would this truly be his "last ride".

Lately, we've only seen the Undertaker as the leadup to a Wrestlemania. The 47-year old (who turns 48 before WM next month) is widely respected by fans and peers alike, but it's well known that injuries have accumulated over the years, and longevity has a price. According to Wrestlinginc.com, the Undertaker made the appearance last Saturday as a way of "testing the waters" to see if he was up to the task of carrying his weight at Wrestlemania.

So, what will be his role be at the "Grandaddy of them all"? With most of the dance partners already taken, there's three options that could have far lasting repercussions.

1. He puts over a young guy to end the streak - Whether it's the Miz, Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett or Antonio Cesaro, or another superstar, they would receive an immediate boost and cache as the "man who ended the streak". Undertaker is known as a locker-room leader and team player and would likely have no qualms passing the torch.

2. He becomes part of the Rock/Cena feud - Rematches no longer have the anticipation or excitement they once did, because you rarely have to wait long to see the combatants go at it. Although, Rock and Cena haven't laid hands on each other since their battle at WM 28, part of the reason there's not as much heat for the match is that you knew it was inevitable and they said as much...last year. Undertaker would definitely add a new dimension, not only because the streak would be on the line, but so would the WWE belt.

3. He takes on C.M. Punk - Punk had an unprecedented run as champion of 15 months, before losing the belt to the Rock. Despite that reign, his wrestling and mic skills, he hasn't quite been able to overtake John Cena in terms of popularity. Having him end Undertaker's streak would perhaps go a long way in doing that, especially if the Undertaking acknowledged him as he did Shawn Michaels and Triple H in their "knock down, drag out" battles. Punk represents the most obvious choice, but the match would be far from predictable.

According to PWInsider, Undertaker/Punk was a done deal. Reporter Mike Johnson stated "Undertaker vs. CM Punk" was confirmed for Wrestlemania about a week ago and WWE Creative is now scrambling to fast-track the match's storyline. They started phase one with Punk's promo on Monday referring to himself as an "icon" above Superstars and God."

With the WWE hurriedly putting things into motion, it merely reaffirms that nothing is set in stone or as they say "Anything can happen in the WWE."
