The 2014 Nissan GT-R "Track Edition" debuted at the 2013 Chicago auto show where the automaker's new sports car showboated its high-performance makeover.

A revamped suspension, front spoiler and interior brings this exclusive model closer to its racetrack heritage.

"The concept behind the GT-R Track Edition is to enable drivers who enjoy even more demanding high-performance driving than the GT-R Premium and Black Edition models' extreme performance, the chance to come closer to a competition spec vehicle-no back seat, stiffer suspension, higher grip seats, additional brake cooling-the works," said Pierre Loing, Nissan Americas' vice president of product and advanced planning and strategy.

But if you want to get behind the wheel of the new sports car you will have to act fast as production of the GT-R Track Edition is limited to only 150 cars for the U.S. Market, according to the automaker's press release. And the revamped hot rod will only be available at select Nissan dealerships throughout the country.

The highly exclusive model features a four-wheel independent suspension with Bilstein DampTronic gas pressure shock absorbers and higher spring rates that were tuned by development driver Toshio Suzuki.

And the six-cylinder standard GT-R engine that pumps out 545 ponies and 463 pound-feet of torque is accompanied by a paddle-shifted six-speed dual clutch transmission that the driver can select to enable racecar-like shifting.

As far as the interior is concerned, the Track Edition is outfitted with special blue-trimmed, high-grip front seats and a cockpit-style instrument panel.

There is also a multi-function display at the center of the instrument panel that displays 11 pages of trip information and also serves as a navigation system and Bluetooth interface.

The 2014 GT-R Track Edition is slated to go on sale in May 2013 with a price to be announced closer to that date.

But as a point of reference, the Premium model of the GT-R starts at $99,590, while the Black Edition starts at $109,330.
