There is no doubt that a lot of Latinos loved and still love La Diva de la Banda, Jenni Rivera. It is because of that love that months after the tragic accident on Dec. 9, the singer is still a prominent topic and will be for a while.
Pedro Rivera, father of the late singer, and his two sons, Juan and Gustavo announced that they will have a tribute tour for Jenni this year. It will be called "Inquebrantable gira de agradecimiento 2013" (Unbreakable 2013 tour of gratitude) and it will not only honor the singer but her supportive fans.
According to People en Español, the first concert will take place March 17 in California. The publication also stated that no other dates have been announced as of yet.
Last month, the singer's father announced that he was thinking of doing the tribute tour for his daughter. During an interview with the show "Sal Y Pimienta," he said that he wants the tribute to be anywhere from 8 to 15 concerts and from those he will take out a percentage to give to Jenni's younger sister Rosie.
According to NBC Latino, Rosie is taking care of the singer's two youngest children -- 15-year-old Jenicka and 11-year-old Johnny - as well as her sister's multi-million dollar estate.
On a previous interview with "El Gordo y La Flaca," Pedro also mentioned that he hopes Jenni's daughters Jenicka and Jacky join them on the tour at some point. During that interview he stated that in the end, the concert has to be something fun. "Algunos cantamos la misma música, que es banda, mariachi y norteño, pero cada quien en su estilo." (Some of us sing the same music which is banda, mariachi y norteño but each one of us has a different style,) he said.
